Selling motorcycles for 80 years and still going strong

G D Brown Motorcycles celebrate 80 years of selling motorcycles and all other kinds of two-wheeled transport this year. G D Brown started the company in 1926. Since taking over the bike shop in 1996 after the founder sadly passed away – the owner Simon Huber junior has revived the scooters sales part of the business.
Selling Scooters is nothing new at Godalming motorcycle dealership. G D Brown first started selling them in 1951. In fact G D Brown Motorcycles became the first UK dealer to stock the Vespa Scooter, which was built under licence in this country by the Douglas Aircraft Factory in Bristol. Remarkably they are still selling the ever popular Vespa range which forms part of the massive Italian Piaggio concern.
GD Brown are currently ranking in third on the Piaggio sales charts and will be receiving an incentive award for staff to enjoy a speed day at Brands Hatch. They currently stock the complete Piaggio and Vespa range which includes the ever popular stunning fuel injected Vespa GTS Super 300. Most models are twist and go fully automatic and sizes range from 50cc to 300cc. They also hold dealerships with Gilera and Derbi the prestigious 2008 MOTO GP 125 Champions. Derbi range includes the Senda 50cc along with the brand new 2009 GPR 125R Fourstroke model designed for the fashion conscious race replica market. At least one of each model and colour is always in stock along with complete workshop facilities and spares back up. Most 50cc models are restricted for learner legal 16 year olds.
To celebrate their 80 anniversary – the owners have added a first floor to their showrooms dedicated solely to scooters and learner legal motorcycles. They also hold the Derbi Dealership for Surrey – the range includes the very popular Derbi Senda 50cc to 659cc range of learner legal Enduro and Sports style bikes suitable for all ages
G D Brown have a selection of used stock to suit most budgets – for those who whish to dispose of a motorcycle or scooter and do not want all the hassle this can entail - a unique sale or return scheme has been set up to sell the bike on a sale or return commission basis. This normally achieves a far higher price for the seller as the bike shop can offer far more facilities to the potential customer like finance part exchanges etc.
Over the years G D Brown has moved with the times and has the latest type of MOT inspection equipment. They also offer full workshop facilities for servicing and repair to most makes and models. G D Brown Motorcycles is a rare local dealership in this day and age –with the main priority being customer care and satisfaction -. The showrooms and workshops are situated half a mile from the Town Centre on the A3100 Guildford Road.

"Hi Simon,
First thing, thanks very much for picking me up yesterday and taking me to the station (I made it back in time for my hospital app)
Thanks again for yesterday and I regard you to be a very reliable and helpful dealer and will recommend you to others.
Kind Regards
Joe Tomczyk"
"Hi,
Just wanted to say thankyou to the staff member who attended me on Saturday morning. I rang on Friday to check availability, and I don’t know if it was the same salesman but he was friendly and helpful as well.
I had driven up from Portsmouth just to look at one of the bikes, not having sen one before, and he was very helpful.
Unfortunately the 2008 £2295 was gone and I just cant stretch to a new one, but he took my number anyway in the slim hope that one comes in. Such a pity as, if it had been cheaper, I would of bought one straight away, they look smashing bikes and just what im after.
Thanks again,
Regards,
Mark Jones"
